Alex Chilvers was killed in the early hours of Sunday, (June 22, 2008) in the centre of March. Alex was knocked down by a car in front of the Norwich and Peterborough Building Society in Broad Street at around 12.30am. He was taken to Peterborough District Hospital with serious injuries but died later that day.

Openly gay journalist and broadcaster David Self - who famously wrote the questions for ITV's Sale of the Century and who took part in one of the country's first civil ceremonies for gay couples - has died. Mr Self, 67, had been battling liver disease and cancer for sometime: his partner Majid Jawad described it as "not a nice death".

Carl Couzens, a football referee, died after suffering a severe asthma attack on Friday June 6, 2008. Carl, 36, who lived on the Westmill estate in Hitchin, had spent the evening out with a friend before he suffered the fatal attack.

Kevin Young, 54, was killed whilst taking part in a regatta organised by a fellowship of flying Rotarians when the Tampico single engine plane plunged into a ravine on Sunday June 1, 2008.

John Ritchie, 81, of Broadway in Letchworth GC, died when the plane he was in came down near the town of Rovereto, in the Veneto area in the Italy on Sunday June 1, 2008.

Beverly Owen, wife of the former Mayor of March Councillor Kit Owen, died in hospital on Thursday, May 22, 2008. It is believed Mrs Owen had been on a life support machine in Peterborough Hospital after collapsing on Wednesday while shopping in Tesco.

Christopher Faulkner, 20, of Stevenage was attacked in King George V Playing Fields on Monday April 21, 2008. He later died at the Lister Hospital of a single stab wound to the chest.
